Severe Weather Warning Extended Until Tuesday the 19th August 2008
It's a tragedy but yet again Belfast and many other parts of Northern Ireland have been hit by heavy rains leading to local flooding. The pictures below represent just a few incidents in the South and East of the City of Belfast. Among those hit in these floods are those whose properties have just been repaired following the 2007 floods. On that occasion the Northern Ireland Executive issued £1000 in assistance to those homes affected. No comment has yet been made from the Northern Ireland Executive or any Minister regarding assistance to those affected by these floods. Some of the areas hit by the floods are Grande Parade, Hillsborough Drive, Cregagh Street, the Castlereagh Road and Loopland, as well as many other parts of Counties Down & Antrim.
